Manchester City Extend Unbeaten Run, Thrash Brighton 4-0

Unbeaten in 30 Matches

Manchester City continued their astonishing form on Saturday, thrashing Brighton 4-0 at the Amex Stadium. The victory marks the 30th consecutive match in all competitions that City have gone unbeaten, a run that dates back to August 2022.

Third-Longest Run in Club History

City's unbeaten streak is now the third-longest in the club's history, behind only the 32-match run in 2017-18 and the 37-match run in 2018-19.

Goals from Alvarez and Haaland

Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland scored the goals that gave City the win. Alvarez opened the scoring in the 21st minute, with Haaland doubling the lead 10 minutes later.

Comfortable Second Half

City controlled the game throughout, with Brighton rarely threatening. Phil Foden added a third goal in the second half, before Haaland scored his second to complete the scoring.

One Point off Arsenal

The victory moves City to within one point of Premier League leaders Arsenal, who beat Brentford 3-0 on Saturday. City have two games in hand over Arsenal, so they could overtake the Gunners at the top of the table if they win both.
